Energy and Hypnotherapy
Emotions can be thought of as balls of energy. Energy is energy, whether positive or negative.
Emotions can be thought of as balls of energy. Energy is energy, whether positive or negative. They can be created through experience, physical imbalances, or both. Trauma has the ability to create a large charged ball of emotion/energy at once. When an emotion is created, whether we are aware of it in the moment, it has an effect on our body. If a negative emotion is experienced and not released, it can become trapped in and around the body, building and causing dis-ease. Dis-ease doesn’t have to look like a physical diagnosis, such as cancer. It can also translate as a state of being.
These balls of energy can become bigger as thoughts are attached to them. Creating an even bigger ball of energy. So the limiting belief is feeding the negatively charged event, and the negatively charged even is reinforcing the limiting beliefs. For instance, let’s say someone gets rejected by their crush when they ask them to go to a high school dance. This person feels the charged emotion of rejection in the moment, attaching assumptions for why they may have been rejected, which may not even be accurate. They may have attached the belief of “I am not good enough”, which is now being charged by the rejection event.
Perceiving an experience as rejection, may charge these beliefs even more, creating an expectation. So now, when this person wants to take a risk, whether talking to someone first or applying to jobs, they automatically attach the negative thoughts associated with the charged ball of energy, creating an expectation, and possibly their reality of rejection. One may see where I am going with this, which is that we have the ability to create our reality through our thoughts.
One may ask, what does hypnotherapy have to do with this? Honestly, everything.
Everyone processes their world differently, therefore trauma can happen through anything based on how a person processes their experience. Hypnotherapy can help identify the source of the belief and release trauma using techniques like regression.
Hypnotherapy can also identify how to release this belief by asking the subconscious directly “what do you need to relieve this dis-ease?” The client may say through physical attention to the body or working through the event that charged the belief. Sometimes, one must work with the physical body to ease mental distress, such as a change in diet, physical environment, or even medication, because it is a physical imbalance that is charging the event. Therapy in general is important in these circumstances because sometimes we need to accept that there is something physically wrong before we accept physical help.
If the belief comes from a charging event, aka trauma, hypnotherapy can help a client identify this trauma and work through it. This breaks the charging energy ball down, helping release the limiting beliefs attached to the event.
Hypnotherapy may also help clients create new positively charged energy, such as experiencing empowerment, that reinforces beliefs that serve the highest good of the client. When a client feels empowered, they are more likely to be aware of when negative energy (energy that does not serve the highest good of the client) is accumulating in their space and take action before it becomes overwhelming or out of control.
I say experiencing empowerment because clients know that feeling empowered will serve them. Most want to feel empowered, but they do not know how to get there. It may have been years since clients remembered what empowerment felt like, if they have ever felt empowered.
Talk therapies are wonderful, but if the client is not experiencing empowerment in their body, they are less likely to apply it in their life. One must charge the feeling they want, therefore it is important for clients to experience empowerment before they can apply positive beliefs. Hypnotherapy has the ability to help clients experience feelings like empowerment and peace in their body through visualization and breath work techniques. This in turn will ensure a higher likelihood of successful change after session and in everyday life.
